Reptile and Amphibian Care

turtleSome folks think they’re creepy and gross, others love their cold blooded ways and can’t imagine living without an ectotherm in their home. Either way you have to be in awe of their ability to adapt to such specific and varied environments. From sun baked deserts to the highest humidity cloud forests, you’ve got to respect creatures that can be the same yet so different that they can exist in such a climate range. I’ve got to say, I’m a big fan of reptiles and amphibians and have kept them as pets since I was a young child. Every one of my family members has a story about a snake or a turtle or a caiman (a South American crocodilian species) that was in my care. My years working for a pet trade reptile broker not only met my addiction, but fed it! There have been very few periods in my life when I didn’t live with a reptile environment in my home. I am currently working on a small breeding project with a group of Emerald Swifts and am searching for mates for my Australian Knob-tailed Geckos.

Because of their specific environments, reptiles and amphibians have very specific care and feeding requirements. That coupled with the fact that some people keep species that can be deemed as somewhat dangerous, it is almost impossible to find anyone that will sit for your pets. Not only am I interested in your pets, I’m really good at caring for them and I love every minute of the time I spend with them! The fact that I am a species specialist will only be beneficial to your cold blooded kids.

Our reptile and amphibian care services include insectivore, carnivore, herbivore and omnivore feeding, cage cleaning, light enclosure maintenance, manual misting, lighting fixture bulb changes, incubator monitoring, environmental monitoring, and exhibit plant care.
